Logline
John, an Advertising Guru, has misgivings when the numbers 666 appear on his head. Omens of the Apocalypse appear. His best friend’s fiancée accuses him of being You-Know-Who. How can he be the Antichrist if he’s the Best Man at their wedding?

John, an Advertising Guru, has misgivings when the numbers 666 appear on his head. Omens of the Apocalypse appear. His best friend’s fiancée accuses him of being You-Know-Who. How can he be the Antichrist if he’s the Best Man at their wedding?
Synopsis
Advertising Guru, John, and his scintillating wife, Lili, invite John’s frat buddy, Duncan, and his fiancée, Fiona, over for a cross-country visit. They expect to regale their friends with an evening of laughter and fine dining. Instead, they’re tormented by ominous omens from the infernal realms. Not all is well in suburbia.
The overnight stay gets off to a rocky start when Fiona tries to remove the numbers 666 that are etched on John’s scalp. Hyper-religious, Fiona sees the Antichrist in every move John makes. Fiona’s misguided heroics quickly escalate. She tries to kill John with a butcher knife in order to ‘save the world.’ John staves her off with fuzzy logic and magnetic allure.
But as the evening veers towards midnight, the sumptuous dinner becomes a Last Supper for the Apocalypse. Supernatural mayhem is unleashed upon their regal estate.
‘The End is Probably Almost Nearly Here’ is a riotous blend of dark comedy and supernatural suspense.
Does this party finish with dessert—or the end of the world?

Director’s Notes
I’m moved to create a satire which critiques extremism and group think. ‘The End is Probably Almost Nearly Here’ exposes the absurdities of dogmatic faith vs. the caustic power of advertising. It sets up a boxing match between themes of gender, inequality and social engineering. With sharp dialogue and dark humor, it examines prophecy and hostile oligarchy.
The beauty of a comedy is our ugliest truths and taboos can be laid bare in cauterizing sunlight, letting us laugh at our own chaos.
This film mirrors our societal struggles through the story of four friends meeting for an overnight stay. They deftly fight a pitched battle between ‘The Religious’ and ‘The Corporate Elite’. No punch is left unthrown. In a flurry of verbal fisticuffs, the battle reaches a dizzying crescendo of punch-drunk mayhem.
This furious pace will be juxtaposed with compassionate sequences portraying each character’s inner landscape. The film will project a burlesque, hyper-realistic feel.
Through comedy, we engage in child’s play. We recapture the spark of life, reuniting and inviting connection through laughter.
Director’s Notes
Based on the play, ‘The Antichrist Cometh’, by David MacGregor, ‘The End is Probably Almost Nearly Here’ portrays the cultural battlefields plaguing our world. In the most unabashed way, it pits Fundamentalist-Progressive and Believer-Atheist divides against one another.
In the Land of the Free, divergent views are not allowed.
If you live in LA, why engage with low-brow heathens from ‘fly-over-land’? If you live in ‘fly-over-land’, why trust coastal elitists who scorn the hierarchies of heaven?
The beauty of a dark comedy is that the ugliest truths and taboos can be excavated and laid bare in cauterizing sunlight.
This film playfully depicts our societal struggles through the story of four characters meeting for an overnight stay. They deftly fight a pitched battle between ‘The Religious’ and ‘The Enlightened’. To assert their beliefs, no punch is left unthrown. In a flurry of verbal fisticuffs, the battle reaches a dizzying crescendo of punch-drunk mayhem. The four friends collapse, exhausted.
With sharp dialogue and dark humor, ‘The End is Probably Almost Nearly Here’ reveals how faith and prophecy can be skewered. It explores themes of power, salvation and the insidious charm of advertising.
